An exciting opportunity is now available for an Experienced Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join our team working across the Emergency Department (ED) and the General Medicine Hospital in the Home (Gen Med HITH). The Senior OT will deliver and progress care from our patients presentation at ED through to comprehensive admitted care in their homes.

The senior OT provides experienced steady leadership to not just the OTs but to the multidisciplinary Allied Health teams and will provide creative and informed input to our service development as we explore novel approaches to care.

About the role

• Cohesive multi-disciplinary teamwork in both ED and Gen MedHITH; working to top of scope with an interdisciplinary approach to achieve patient centred care.
• ED OT led concussion management skills both in clinical application and upskilling peers using evidence-based practice.
• Large breadth of clinical variety and assessment within acute ED setting along the continuum of ability to review and implement OT interventions within the context of patients homes.
• Ability to support complex home first approach MDT planning with strong inter-professional service links for providing the right care at the right time.
• Ongoing exciting opportunities for service development including scope of practice and involvement in department portfolios across teams who prioritise quality improvement and upskilling of staff.
• Supportive peer and organisational network given ties across the OT department ED and Gen Med HITH.

About you

• B. Occupational Therapy B. App Sc (OT) MOT prac or recognised equivalent.
• Post graduate qualification (Masters level) in one of Occupational Therapy Public Health Research and/or Health Management or working towards same.
• Full Registration held with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership).
• Current Victorian Drivers License (unrestricted).
• Current Working with Childrens Check
