Position Summary
Concordia University invites applicants for an Adjunct Faculty position(s) to teach the second half of an oceanography course (lecture and lab) in the spring of 2026 (3/9-5/1). This portion of the course focuses on marine ecology and environmental issues. The lab meets M 1:10-3:00 and lecture meets W/F 1:45-3:00 on the Mequon Campus. Students in the course include environmental studies majors as well as non-science majors.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and conduct class sessions
- Facilitate lab activities in large and small groups
- Prepare and administer quizzes and exams
- Grade course assessments and maintain online gradebook
- Meet and communicate with students as necessary (office hours may be held remotely via zoom)
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates effective leadership organizational skills and is a self-starter
- Able to present a Christian and professional manner
- Candidates should possess strong written and oral communications skills
- All candidates should possess an ability to meet deadlines
- Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
Education and Qualifications
- Hold a masters degree in an earth or biological sciences field or a related area of study or be an ABD doctoral candidate.
- Possess effective interpersonal and strong teaching skills
