Job Summary: The University of Alabama System Office in Tuscaloosa is currently receiving applications for the position of System Fellow an undergraduate student position reporting to the Special Assistant to the Chancellor.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be enrolled in a UA System Campus undergraduate degree program at UA UAB or UAH.
- Must be registered for at least six (6) credit hours during Fall/Spring semesters.
- Must be available to work at least 15 hours per week.
- Ability to prioritize duties in a manner that allows for flexibility in responding to changing demands
- Initiative to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and provide appropriate status updates
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills on telephone in person and via email
- Must be age 19 and have three years of driving experience
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
- Attending monthly meetings with the Special Assistant to the Chancellor to reflect on student life campus culture core principles and leadership decisions
- Organizing Board materials and taking part in three Board meetings per year
- Assisting with special projects pertaining to Board documents memorandums logistics current events etc.
- Submitting semesterly reflections on your experience as a System Fellow
- Covering the front desk during lunch hours and other times as requested
- Answering a multi-line phone system
- Copying scanning filing and mailing documents
- Setting up and breaking down conference rooms for meetings and events
- Distributing packages and mail
- Taking inventory of and stocking supplies
- Making deliveries and handling courier assignments in Tuscaloosa
- Exhibiting a professional attitude with all staff visitors and other student assistants
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE Monday - Friday hours vary by semester depending on office needs.
