MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Haven Charter High School is to provide a Career and Technical Education program serving the Bronx. Students will benefit from a well-rounded rigorous STEM Education leading to a professional certification in the medical field. Through individualized planning and attention graduates will have the academic skills necessary to be successful in college and careers and the tools necessary to enter the workforce or enroll in college.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/ Objective
Haven Charter is the first Career and Technical Education SUNY Authorized high school in NYC with a focus in the Health Sciences sector. Opening in the South Bronx July 2025 with a 9th grade inaugural class of 120 students and offering pathways to both college and career. We are currently looking for our founding teaching team which will play a critical role in realizing the mission values and youth centered vision for our school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Principal teachers at Haven Charter High School (HCHS) are responsible for teaching students by planning developing organizing and implementing an appropriate and specialized instructional program to meet the unique needs of all students in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Clearances
Will be fingerprinted prior to employment by the New York City Department of Health and/or by the New York City Department of Education.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Workdays/hours subject to change based on HCHS needs.
