UCT is looking for a talented Digitalization Engineer to join us in Singapore!

Job Summary:

We are seeking an innovative and hands-onDigitalization Engineer to join our global automation engineering team within the semiconductor equipment manufacturing organization. This position will drive the design development and deployment of AI/ML/DL solutions that enhance quality manufacturing efficiency and business excellence. The ideal candidate will be comfortable bridging data science software engineering Automation and manufacturing process expertise across global sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

AI Platform and Application Development:

• Design and develop auser-driven AI UI platformfor self-annotation model training validation and deployment across global manufacturing sites.
• Develop and implementAI/ML/DL algorithms for Automation systems.
• LeadAI applications for MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data including model development for process optimization and predictive analysis.
• Deliver and maintainOCR (Optical Character Recognition) applicationfor serial number extraction (development completed testing and deployment pending).
• Apply standard process CRISP-DM (business understanding data understanding data preparation modeling evaluation deployment) Machine Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow PyTorch etc. & Agile Methodologies for Business Analytics projects
• Continue development ofAI models for Work Order Cycle Time prediction collaborating with SAP and data engineering teams for feature enrichment.
• Support and enhance theAI-powered chatbot UltrAI leveraging LLM frameworks (e.g. Ollama) to provide manufacturing intelligence and user support.
• Contributes to the company by creating patents and other intellectual property (IP Protection architecture)

Manufacturing & Business Analytics Solutions:

• Build and integrateOperations excellence dashboard modules by creating interfaces for site users to input planned production times and ideal cycle times and contribute to theglobal automation dashboardarchitecture.
• DevelopAI-driven quoting toolsto improve response speed reduce errors and rejections and enhance overall customer experience - enabling the business toaccelerate bid generation and increase win rates.
• Leads discovery processes with business stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Leadership:

• Work closely withexternal consultants and internal teamsspanning IT (Data & Analytics IT Applications) Manufacturing Engineering Product Engineering Business Excellence Product Line Management and Global PMO.
• Coordinate multiple parallel projects ensuringdata alignment AI model integration and process standardizationacross global sites.
• Translate complex technical workstreams into clear deliverables and communicate outcomes effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in computer science AI Software Engineering or related disciplines.
• 48 years of experience inAI/ML development preferably withinsemiconductor or advanced manufacturing industries.
• Strong hands-on experience indeep learning computer vision predictive modeling andML platform deployment.
• Proficiency inPythonTensorFlow/PyTorchOpenCV and buildinginteractive UI tools(Streamlit FastAPI or similar).
• Experience developingAI models for AOI systems other automation systems and working withMES/SAP-based manufacturing data.
• Familiarity withMLOps tools(MLflow Kubeflow Airflow) andcloud computing environments(AWS Azure GCP).
• Strong understanding ofdata engineering concepts manufacturing KPIs (e.g. OEE cycle time yield) and industrial integration principles (edge devices PLCs or automation systems).
• Experience in leading multi division projects.
• Excellent project management multitasking and communication skills in across-functional global environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience deployingOCR and LLM-based applicationsin production environments.
• Knowledge ofpredictive maintenance process optimization or equipment anomaly detection.
• Exposure toAI chatbot frameworksNLP model tuning andcustom dataset generation.
• Working knowledge ofmanufacturing quoting systemsor cost-modeling tools.
• Proven ability to mentor AI development teams and guide best practices for scalable AI deployment.
