As an Engineering Manager for Jobs Marketplace Monetization AI you will lead teams solving some of the most complex and high-impact AI and marketplace problems at LinkedIn. This role sits at the intersection of auction design monetization relevance and value delivery ensuring that job seekers hirers and LinkedIn all realize sustainable and measurable value from the marketplace.

You will be responsible for building and evolving the next generation Monetization and Ranking engine tackling challenges such as large-scale ranking and allocation pricing and auction mechanisms budget pacing and multi-objective optimization across heterogeneous job formats and placements. The systems you lead operate at massive scale serving millions of members and job postings while making near real-time decisions informed by job demand member intent and hirer objectives.
This role demands deep technical leadership across AI/ML modeling marketplace economics and distributed systems balancing short-term business outcomes with long-term platform leverage.

The work location of this role is hybrid meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role will be based in Sunnyvale CA.


Responsibilities:


Marketplace & Monetization Leadership

  • Lead the design and evolution of Jobs Marketplace monetization systems including auctions pricing budget allocation and value-based ranking.
  • Drive principled tradeoffs across relevance hirer outcomes and LinkedIn revenue using multi-objective optimization.


AI & Platform Innovation

  • Guide the Jobs Marketplace 2.0 vision by advancing AI/ML capabilities (including deep learning and LLM-powered systems) while simplifying architecture for scale velocity and reliability.
  • Enable parallel experimentation across models and strategies without sacrificing quality or system integrity.


Value Delivery & Transparency

  • Build mechanisms that give job posters clear visibility into ROI through forecasting targeting and quality applicant delivery.
  • Ensure monetization strategies are grounded in fairness incrementally and long-term marketplace health.
  • Collaboration
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Data Science Economics and Business leaders to translate marketplace strategy into durable platform capabilities.
     

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1 year(s) of experience leading a team of AI/ML engineers as a people manager or 1 year(s) as a Staff Engineer with completion of a formal management training program. 

  • 5 years of industry experience including significant work in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning.

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or other technical discipline or related practical technical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of overall experience in AI engineering and/or leadership. 

  • 2 years of management experience leading teams of 5-10 engineers. 

  • PhD in Computer Science Machine Learning Statistics or related field.

  • Expert in recommendation system LLM knowledge graph and natural language processing

  • Experience developing large scale enterprise grade solutions/systems

  • Track record of producing papers in conferences such as KDD WWW WSDM ... and patenting innovations

Compensation:

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $170000 to $277000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
