This hands-on role helps ensure a welcoming customer experience smooth café operations and meaningful skill development for individuals living with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Key Responsibilities - Support front-of-house service customer engagement and POS transactions
- Assist with basic kitchen and back-of-house tasks as needed
- Train and support interns in workplace skills customer service and professionalism
- Model inclusive respectful workplace behaviors
- Maintain cleanliness food safety and ADA-compliant service areas
- Communicate operational needs to the Café Pathway Navigator
- Work well with other team members.
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service hospitality or customer service preferred
- Willingness to work in both front- and back-of-house settings
- Comfort working alongside individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods lift up to 30 lbs. work well with others and perform sanitation/cleaning tasks.
- ServSafe Certification required or willingness to obtain within 60 days
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work well independently and use critical thinking skills.
(Training and support will be provided.) Schedule Shifts typically fall between 6:30 a.m. 2:30 p.m. MondayFriday with some scheduling flexibility. Coverage is shared among multiple team members. This job description outlines key responsibilities but may evolve as the program develops. It is not a contract and does not include all possible duties. Employees may be assigned additional tasks as needed with reasonable accommodation. Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in a café setting and in a commercial kitchen environment.
