In addition to UW Medical Center-Montlake this Perfusionist includes privileges at Harborview Medical Center and the VA which will be about 10% of the position location

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently responsible for the technology of extra-corporeal circulation associated with a variety of surgical procedures and cardiac management therapies
Operate the heart and lung machine temporary ventricular assist devices (VADS) Organ Care Systems (OCS) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenators (ECMO)
Work closely with surgeons anesthesiologists and nursing staff to tailor the perfusion to the needs of each patient
Utilize the appropriate technology to monitor and maintain patient parameters which includes the regulation of blood pressure heart rate urinary output arterial and venous blood gasses acid/base status blood coagulation temperature and myocardial protection
Constantly assess the mechanical parameters of the circuit
Procedures covered include coronary artery bypass grafts valve repair/replacement aortic aneurysms heart and lung transplantation ventricular assist device surgeries and extracorporeal life support
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience preferred will consider new graduates
Current certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion within one year of hire.
Graduation from an Accredited Perfusion Technology Program or approved program of Extracorporeal Technology.
