We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Team as a Payroll Supervisor. This role will initially be based at Tattenhall moving to our brand new site in Birchwood once complete.
The Payroll Supervisor will report into the Payroll Manager and supervise a team to deliver Bi-weekly Lunar and Monthly payroll for over 3000 employees.
Key Duties of the Payroll Supervisor:
- Support the Payroll Manager to deliver an effective and efficient payroll function
- Cover all aspects of payroll including Itrent System
- HMRC reporting compliance and provision of management information
- Effectively supervise the team offering guidance and direction to enhance the payroll process helping to mitigate risk and minimising the occurrence of error and ensuring the teams business continuity in the event of staff absence
- Support the Payroll Manager to control accurate and timely reporting under Real Time Information and provision of P45 and P60 information to employees
- Deputise for the Payroll Manager to ensure the correct reconciliation of PAYE/NIC Net Pay Union deductions Pension Contributions AEO CSA and salary sacrifice
- Deputise for the Payroll manager to ensure ongoing compliance with pension auto-enrolment obligations across the business
- Maintain a sound knowledge of current payroll issues regulation and best practice; and support the Payroll Manager to modify payroll processes to maintain compliance and achieve continuous improvement
- To ensure New Starter/Leavers are processed in accordance with terms and conditions
Qualifications :
- Itrent / Resource Link
- CIPP Qualified or QBE
- Previous supervisory experience is essential and must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of supervising a payroll team
- Proficient in using IT including Microsoft Office and accounts and payroll software
- Extensive knowledge of PAYE/NIC and statutory payments such as SMP SAP SPP SSP
- Excel is a key management information tool for Great Bear so a sound knowledge of spreadsheet writing and analysis of data is essential. Ability to develop pivot and lookup functions is desirable
- Be pro-active in developing and improving the provision of management information around payroll and time and attendance
- Experience in using the Kronos time and attendance system would be an advantage
