Job Summary

The purpose of Anglo American Marketing is to sustainably maximise cash flows from the marketing of Anglo-American products and services.

The Risk Operations team sits within the Marketing Risk function and forms part of the second line of defence for Marketing as a global team Risk Operations adopts a Follow the Sun operating model. Its key responsibilities include financial trade validation regulatory trade reporting master data management and governance as well as Know Your Counterparty (KYC) onboarding and review processes.

Purpose

The Analyst Financial Trade Operations executes risk management controls across Financial Trade Operations Master Data Management Data Governance and Know Your Counterparty (KYC) processes that are managed by the team.

This role consistently operates controls to a high standard to guarantee efficient and effective processes produces key KPI reports and support the creation of process automations and continuous improvements initiatives.

Key Tasks

Performance & Delivery 

  • Execute Risk operations BAU activities such as Counterparty onboarding KYC Trade Validation Reg reporting and any other activity in scope of Risk Operations and supports the creation and maintenance of process automations.
  • Conduct KYC verification as required including adverse news screening and respond to incoming external KYC requests
  • Execute T0 trade capture checks confirmations margining and broker fee reconciliations / invoicing and assure completeness accuracy and timeliness of daily Financial Trades Regulatory Reporting submissions; and investigate and resolve breaks and address root causes.
  • Review and maintain counterparty data user accesses and reference data in alignment to our processes and policies
  • Supports the implementation of Marketings Data Governance Framework ensuring policies ownership lineage and controls are embedded and performs regular review of Data Owners and Business Approval Matrix.
  • Maintain SOPs and workflow instructions so they remain current accurate and auditable
  • Monitor KPIs/KRIs for data accuracy timeliness completeness and control performance.
  • Support the delivery of training to Marketing employees on processes and controls relevant to trade capture KYC onboarding counterparty management and related Risk Operations activities including contributing to the annual training plan (online and face-to-face) and delivering regular written and in-person communications. Proactively investigate data and operational issues; lead rootcause analysis and suggest corrective actions
  • Supports relevant audit activities as instructed by providing documentation promptly liaising directly with the auditors to walk-through work processes
  • Supports the execution of UAT testing and proactively identify and closes gaps ahead of go live.
  • Provide support to the Risk Operations Team Lead Risk Operations Manager and Head of Risk as required.

Compliance 

  • Adherence to all Anglo American Group and Marketing policies and procedures as well as observing proper standards of conduct relating to the role.

Qualifications :

  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Mandarin / Spanish would be beneficial
  • Bachelors Degree or higher in a Science related field Business or Finance.
  • Basic understanding of financial transactions processing and governance/controls is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including powerquery PowerAutomate and PowerBi
  • Experience in SQL or any other data management language is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail meticulous organized and proactive
  • Results and customer service oriented capable of holding self and others to account on delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and operate in ambiguous situations. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and effectively navigate the organization to identify where expertise resides.
