We are seeking a highly motivated Simulation Engineer (for Magnetic circuits) to join our Transmission Control Engineering team.
This role is responsible for developing and executing simulation strategies to support the design validation and optimization of electromagnetic components and subsystems primarily solenoids for automatic transmissions and thermal management. The successful candidate will collaborate across engineering disciplines to analyze component behavior under realistic transmission thermal and vehicle operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead simulation and analysis of magnetic circuits within transmission solenoids and thermal control systems.
- Develop simulation work packages aligned with Product Engineering (PE) methodologies.
- Perform 2D and 3D magnetic simulations to propose and validate product designs using advanced simulation tools and standards.
- Analyze and optimize the electromagnetic section of solenoids to improve system performance such as but not limited to force output response time and energy efficiency.
- Conduct simulations in accordance with project specifications cost targets and timelines.
- Support testing activities by interpreting product functionality failure modes and performance data.
- Present simulation results and insights to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Evaluate technical specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Continuously improve simulation tools and methodologies to enhance design feasibility and efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging magnetic simulation technologies and tools.
- Promote and ensure adherence to safety standards and proactively identify unsafe conditions.
Qualifications :
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Masters degree in a specialized field such as Electromagnetics or Applied Physics is considered a plus.
