Senior Platform Engineer (m/f/d)for the European AI FactoryHammerHAI
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining software environments in the context of AI HPC and data analytics use casesformodern AI and high-performance computing hardware (e.g. GPUs CPUs AI accelerators)
- Contributioning to the initial (and evolving) service portfolio of the AI Factorywithin a friendly and open work environment in a highly motivated international team with the opportunity to contribute with your own ideas
- Fostering contact with collaboration partners as well as stakeholders from the European AI ecosystem relying on your friendly personality and communication skills
- Opportunities to work with national and European partners on novel AI R&D projects from the private and academic sectors
- Maintaining relationships with technology providers and system developers (software/hardware)
Basic Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- PhD or Masters degree in computer or data science or other areas of scientific computing or Bachelors degree with multiple years (>3) of applied AI software development / platform engineering / deployment experience as senior engineer in research or enterprise environments
Other Requirements
- Proficiency working in data center environments (incl.Linux Git Gitlab)
- Willingness to keep up with current developments and to learn new technologies in the field of AI
- Extensive knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining software environments in the context of AI HPC and data analytics use cases that is utilising e.g.
- containers/OS-level virtualization package managers etc.
- Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) Frameworks (e.g. Dask Spark) Distributed ML Training Frameworks (e.g. PyTorch JAX Tensorflow Determined AI) Interactive Environment Tools (e.g. JupyterLab Label Studio) Inference Frameworks (e.g. SAIA Engine) Data Management Frameworks (e.g. Pachyderm)
- e.g. Kubernetes scheduler PBSPro SLURM etc. orchestration frameworks (e.g. Apache Airflow) workflow tools (e.g. Kuberflow Streamflow etc.)
- IaC tools like OpenTofu monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana) experiment tracking dashboards (e.g. Determined AI)
- Extensive knowledge and experience in software deployment and software lifecycle management (ideally based on principles of continuous integration/continuous deployment CI/CD)
- Basic knowledge and practical skills in software design and engineering
- Basic knowledge and practical skills in IT and cyber security for software and software platform development
- ExcellentEnglish and preferably German presentation and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with agile development methods
