Women's CoordinatorParent and Family Services Counselor

Position Summary: Under direct supervision the Womens Coordinator/Parent and Family Services Counselor is responsible for working with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health. No smoking workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provides evidence-based Seeking Safety curricula in group/individual sessions to address multiple/ complex issues related to violence trauma/PTSD and addiction; offers individual therapy couples/family counseling; family education/counseling and trauma grief support and anger management groups; mediates family conferencing sessions
• Conducts home visits and develops family reunification plans as needed
• Works with MIRRORS team to integrate/coordinate family/reunification/recovery plans with the womans individual treatment plan
• Assists with Celebrating Families! and other family education/counseling groups
• Participates in scheduled trainings/meetings; participates in data collection/submission as needed to meet project goals
• Maintains records and completes appropriate documentation; other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Masters degree in social work or related field (LCSW LPC or equivalent); 3 years experience providing individual/group therapeutic interventions and principles of case management for diverse PPW children and families in SUD treatment/social services settings; Experience implementing/practicing evidence-based practices such as Seeking Safety Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing and delivery of curriculum-based education services. Willing to become TBRI trained. Knowledge of addiction as a chronic relapsing disorder and principles of effective treatment. Understanding of issues related to trauma abuse and neglect violence PTSD and co-occurring disorders.

Certificates and Licenses:

Masters degree in social work or related field Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Clinical Master in Social Work (LCSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Psychology Post Doc under clinical supervision. If driving on SMH business must have a valid Texas Drivers License and provide proof of current insurance.
