The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Space Communications and Network Systems Undergrad Intern for theNetwork Systems Department (NSD) within the Mission Payloads Division (MPD).This position will be full-time 100% onsite at our office in El Segundo California.

NSD leads and performs trade studies and analyses of communications technologies with regard to space network architectures. This involves support of the entire process of system acquisition; from requirement development all the way to validation and verification. Intern will support these efforts and perform network architecture studies and implementation of physical networking testbeds. Participate in the development and improvement of our network lab infrastructure.
Participate in development of physical testbeds that study optical networking.
Collaborate onsite or remotely with our experienced networking engineers.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Physics or a related discipline.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
Network routing protocol coursework including TCP/IP
Understanding of network simulation and/or networking hardware.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

Optical networking hardware experience.
Hands-on experience with networking routing protocols including TCP/IP usage/implementation

Project experience in developing network architecture.
