    GENERAL SUMMARY
    This position is responsible for providing technology support for mobile devices in the library media center. This position is a tier 1 level of support and response for all school user base providing technical software hardware and network problem resolution to school mobile device users by performing question/problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by-step solution while also coordinating with field technicians for tier 2 support. Responsibilities also include assisting the librarian or certificated library media specialist with instructional and non-instructional activities for students by assisting in the operation of a library.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Depending on the individual assignment the Mobile Device Technology Support Clerk may perform all or a combination of the following under the direction of the principal and/or technology director or designee:

    1. Deliver mobile device technical support to students staff and volunteers by identifying troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of technical computer-related problems; seek to resolve all user problems through problem solving process; elevates and forwards all unresolved mobile device issues to AV/COMPUTER/TELECOMMUNICATIONS Maintenance Technician for onsite assistance.

    1. Receives maintains and verifies inventory and service records of all mobile devices and related supplies materials and equipment at assigned school site. Verifies accuracy of received equipment against packing slips instructions and purchase orders; inputs barcode and asset data into respective databases. Schedules coordinates and manages the physical mobile device inventory count process through yearly and/or ad-hoc inventory checks. Utilizes asset databases including Destiny Asset Manager.

    1. Identifies diagnoses and resolves problems for users of mobile device software and hardware; run diagnostic programs to resolve problems; performs appropriate repairs or adjustments to electronic equipment including audio visual (AV) equipment and cables within the scope of position through onsite support. Adjusts and cleans equipment; test equipment to ensure proper operation and condition.

    1. Provides tier 1 level related hardware and software support to administrative and instructional staff. Responds to questions concerning system use; identifies and corrects equipment or user operational problems and provides solutions.

    1. Responsible for tracking fines for damaged and lost mobile devices and related supplies and materials. Generates various reports including but not limited to; fines overdue police and classroom checkout. Assists Business Office to monitor asset process.
    2. Assists librarian as needed. Assists with supervising and training student assistants and may provide grade input as requested. Locates prepares and/or modifies digital learning materials for student and teacher use enrichment activities and special projects as directed by certificated staff. Assists with supervising and training adult volunteers.

    1. Performs routine equipment repair; cleans technology equipment as necessary. Coordinated and maintains AV equipment video library; maintains and troubleshoots a wide variety of audiovisual and technology equipment. Assists teachers with equipment problems; tapes materials for teachers as necessary; operates and maintains computers in library; recommends equipment acquisition; coordinates equipment repair.


    OTHER FUNCTIONS

    1. Checks materials in and out; assists students in use of equipment and resources; maintains security of materials and equipment. Maintains physical appearance of library display cases and other assigned areas.

    1. Assists library circulation system process library books classroom textbooks periodicals materials AV equipment computer software and hardware for student and teacher use; stamps and numbers materials; maintains inventories. Maintains records files lists catalogs collections shelves backups documentation and other data; and prepares other reports as necessary.

    1. Monitors student behavior to promote appropriate student behavior; corrects behaviors and maintains discipline according to established policies and procedures.

    1. May serve on various district committees and/or departmental work teams. Models appropriate and cooperative behavior including protecting confidential information consistent with ethical guidelines.

    1. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.



    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
    Reports to the Director of Operational Technology or designee; receives direction from principal or designee as assigned.

    MENTAL DEMANDS
    Occasionally required to deal with distraught or difficult individuals; required to convey technical information to nonï½technical staff. May experience frequent interruptions. Required to deal with a wide range of student behaviors and academic abilities or with a wide range of physical or emotional disabilities.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    Potentially exposed to ordinary infectious diseases carried by students. Exposed to student noise levels. Required to lift carry and position books supplies and equipment (not to exceed 40 pounds). Required to bend kneel stand walk and climb low stepladder. This is not a sedentary position however may be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in front of a visual display terminal.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience
    Education training skills and experience necessary to carry out the assignment including two (2) years of experience working with school age children or in a library or office setting. Technology or asset management training or experience strongly preferred.

    Allowable Substitutions
    Vocational training as a library or office clerk or technician may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis; and such other alternatives to the above qualifications that the district may find appropriate and acceptable.

    Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
    Demonstrated skill in reading writing and communicating. Knowledge of school procedures. Knowledge of audiovisual tablet and computer equipment operation. Ability to deal with students in a warm and confident manner. Ability to remain flexible to changes in assignment. Ability to organize activities. Ability to follow and give instructions. Ability to be fair and consistent when working with students. Knowledge of effective behavior management techniques. Ability to recommend and compile library orders. Ability to operate a computer mobile devices and learn the operation of school and library management system word processing and database skills. Ability to input track and monitor data. Ability to identify and correct problems with mobile devices computers and audiovisual equipment and perform minor repairs and adjustments.

    Keyboarding skill. Ability to operate general office machines. Ability to locate and recommend digital learning materials appropriate to teacher assignments and student learning levels. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff.



    Licenses/Special Requirements
    Requires fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation abuse injury or neglect of a minor. Must complete training in and adhere to district infection control plan.
