The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.

These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.

These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Required qualifications

- Ph.D. in Criminology or a closely related discipline;

- Demonstrated recent research experience involving the use of basic and advanced statistical methods (e.g. structural equation modeling methods for panel/temporal data latent growth analysis and curve modeling hierarchical linear modeling meta-analysis power analyses);

- Active knowledge of SPSS and R software;

- Research experience with criminal justice actors or with criminalized/at-risk populations;

- Current teaching experience in quantitative research methods and statistics in criminology;

- Ability to teach in English and French;

- Candidates should submit an up-to-date CV teaching portfolio demonstrating evidence of teaching effectiveness and excellence names of three references and other relevant documents. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to participate in a bilingual interview and to give a bilingual statistical teaching demonstration that is relevant to the field of criminology.

BILINGUALISM

The University of Ottawa is a bilingual institution and all professors in the Faculty of Social Sciences must be actively bilingual (French and English). Active bilingualism is required at the time of hiring.

TERMS AND SALARY

The five-year contract will begin on September 1 2026 and end August 31 2031.

Salary Your salary will be calculated in accordance with the negotiated rate set out in the APTPUO collective agreement and based on your workload.
