NP: Completion of a masters post-masters or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or an equivalent body is required. Pay range is $67.55-$98.85
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Emergency Department (Main) Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner practices under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director of the Emergency Department demonstrates competency and efficiency in the care of the acutely ill patient. This position demonstrates Emergency Department competency in assessing diagnosing and treating a full range of patients in accordance with delineation of privileges; Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize patient care activities; Selects and interprets laboratory and diagnostic testing; Communicates medical assessment and plan to patient and attending physician; Completes medical record documentation in a timely manner. The primary responsibility is the appropriate and timely performance of the medical screening exam assessment and disposition of patients present to the Emergency Department. Performs medical screening exam and deliver emergency medical care to patients within the CVPH Emergency Department within the scope of their credentialing with CVPH and following departmental protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed as a NYS Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
1 year of clinical experience or advanced emergency medicine training as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner preferred.
ACLS ATLS and PALS required. ATLS required.
DEA privileges required. Must attend and complete Emergency Department onboarding process to the degree necessary by their training and experience.
Prior Emergency Department experience or training preferred.
Prior experience successfully working in a busy clinical setting preferred.
