Ongoing roleMust be able to commit to one or two sessions per month on a regular basisDays and times as agreed based on your availability but may change according to needWhy Choose to volunteer with Red CrossYou can help improve lives and create a positive impact in your communityIts an opportunity to enhance your skills & knowledge & gain new experiencesYoull be helping Red Cross to support vulnerable people across AustraliaThe ProgramSnack & Chat is a Red Cross community activity that offers social interaction and personal support alleviating social isolation of vulnerable people in the OpportunityFor this role you will need good conversational skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with a broad range of people including those with different lived experiences abilities and Cross will ensure you have training ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the worlds largest humanitarian ImpactAs a volunteer you will help vulnerable people to feel safe and improve their social connection by listening empathising and providing them with a friendly voice. Where appropriate you may provide information on relevant local services. You will have the opportunity to learn from many peoples diverse history and knowledge as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to others.
