Job Summary
Description
Summary: A Lifeguard is to supervise pool patrons and ensure their safety and well-being through the enforcement of the pool rules and regulations. A Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe and clean aquatic facility for the patrons at Sunset & Mill Creek Pools.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old prior to May 2026.
- Ability to swim 200 yards tread water for 2 minutes retrieve diving brick from the bottom of 12 feet.
- StarGuard Elite certification or ability to obtain prior to starting work (training provided by the park district).
Job Responsibilities:
- Watch direct and safeguard pool patrons in accordance with StarGuard Elite standards.
- Assist in keeping the aquatic facilitiessafe clean and in sanitary condition.
- Maintain lifeguard certification by attending weekly in-service trainings.
- Assist with special events rentals and programs.
Hours/Schedule: Working hours may vary 20-40 hours per week. Flexible scheduling!
Wages: The anticipated starting wage is $16.00 per hour
