About our team Mō te tīma
The Marketing Services Department is made up of five teams:
Our in-house Creative Services team (including the Content Creator role);
Future Student Marketing manages and delivers marketing activities to recruit students;
Divisional Marketing Advisors champion the needs of our academic subject areas;
The Web Experience team owns the University website and other digital applications;
An Events team delivers a wide range of events for students academics and alumni.
While each area has its own responsibility to provide expert advice and initiatives to attract students and raise the profile of the University there will be a large amount of collaboration at a project level.
The role Te mahi
As Content Creator you will play a crucial role in creating and supporting the production of marketing content to promote the Universitys brand academic offerings events and partnerships. This role requires you to keep tauira (students) at the heart of your work and to create engaging and authentic stories primarily for digital channels.
Your day may include:
Creating coordinating and implementing effective and original brand content and activity to promote the University of Otago Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka;
Producing storyboards call sheets and run sheets for video production and work with the creative team and other specialist to develop artwork imagery and graphics as required;
Working closely with the Producer Brand Content on the production of marketing content and with designers and writers to ensure the aesthetic and tone of voice are consistent;
Pitching ideas to clients and collaborating with clients to ensure their needs are met as much as resource and capacity allows;
Taking an iterative and evidence-based approach to content production providing feedback on work to your team and clients;
Aligning content plans and calendars to the University and Marketing Department strategy;
In line with the Universitys Pae Tata strategy you will be supported to continue upskilling in te reo me ngā tikanga Māori.
Your skills and experience Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
We are looking for an experienced marketing professional with the following:
Tertiary level qualification or equivalent experience in a creative or marketing discipline;
Proven experience in digital creative production in a medium-sized or complex organisation;
End-to-end creative campaign or production delivery experience;
Strong client and stakeholder relationship management skills;
An understanding of creative project budgets;
Proficiency in studio creative and design software;
Good knowledge of social media and online community platforms;
An understanding of or experience working with Māori and Pasifika audiences is an advantage.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent role based in Ōtepoti Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $69931 to $74609. Top of Range $80285.
