Job Summary

An Operator for the Sorting Machine is responsible for operating monitoring and maintaining the sorting machinery to ensure efficient and accurate sorting of products. This role requires a strong attention to detail adherence to safety standards and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Details

  • Position Type: Full-Time / Hourly (Non-Exempt)

  • Pay Range: $19.50 per hour $2.50 shift differential

  • Work Location: Onsite Mundelein IL 60060

  • Shift: MondayFriday 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

  • Start up operate and shut down sorting machines in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Observe machine operations to ensure the quality and efficiency of product sorting.

  • Identify and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions to maintain optimal performance.

  • Inspect sorted products to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Remove defective items and maintain consistent quality in sorted products.

  • After sorting process is complete package product into packaging cartons. Accurately record production data including the quantity of sorted products machine malfunctions and downtime.

  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.

  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g. maintain cleanliness of work area etc.)

  • Follow all Safety Environmental and Quality policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints work instructions and technical specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on product quality.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Education: None

  • Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role is preferred.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with industrial sorting machinery.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prolonged standing bending and walking for extended periods.
