Job Summary
Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Suwanee GA United States 30024
Position Type: Contractor - Onsite
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Hours: Mon-Fri shift may range from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with possible mandatory OT.
Temp-to-hire position.
Summary
Warehouse Forklift Drivers are individual contributors responsible for following established procedures and guidelines operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Warehouse Forklift Drivers operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries moving items to and from storage areas machines loading docks vans trucks or storage facilities. This role will assist in receiving handling stocking storing recording and dispatching goods in a warehouse or distribution center.
Will use cherry picker and stand-up forklift. At least 1 year of forklift operator experience operating stand-up forklifts and order pickers required 2 years preferred.
Assigned a primary position but must be willing to perform various tasks each day (sorting loading picking packing receiving put-away etc.).
Majority of the day spent driving once trained but may assist in other warehouse areas.
Warehouse can be noisy; accuracy preferred over speed.
Basic computer skills or RF scanner experience required.
Basic math skills required.
May lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Steel-toe shoes required.
Warehouse is not temperature controlled; can be hot in summer.
Good attendance and strong work ethic required.
Pay increase upon conversion to FTE.
Responsibilities
Safely and properly operate warehouse equipment (forklifts cherry-picking lifts pallet jacks or other warehouse machinery).
Complete equipment logs and daily forklift inspection forms before and after each shift.
Maintain forklifts including lubrication gauge functionality fuel/charge levels and fluid checks.
Unload incoming materials and merchandise; inspect for damage and discrepancies; prepare items for storage.
Load trucks for customer delivery; install strapping/bracing/padding to prevent damage; check for discrepancies.
Complete shipments by processing and loading orders; follow work orders or pick sheets.
Prepare pick pack and dispatch outgoing goods according to instructions; follow stacking policies and verify accuracy.
Weigh or count items to ensure conformance with company standards.
Assist with inventory level maintenance and inventory counts.
Follow all warehouse safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
3 months relevant experience and/or training. High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
Relevant experience/aptitude should include:
Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within the specified time period.
Loading unloading picking packing or moving goods in a warehouse environment; forklift/cherry picker experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules work orders operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Basic computer knowledge or aptitude; preferred skills include MS Office Vista Control SX.e Prophet 21.
Basic math skills (add subtract multiply divide compute rate ratio percent).
Ability to compile reports and write correspondence.
Ability to work in a team and be self-motivated.
