Multi-Skilled Cable Operative

OCU Group are looking for experienced and talented Multi-Skilled Cable Operatives to Join the Team to work on Projects UK Wide.

The Multiskilled Operative will form part of a flexible competent civils and cabling team delivering a wide range of groundworks and cable installation activities. Operatives must be capable of working across multiple disciplines and operating plant where qualified.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out cable installation from 11kv up to 400kv in various environments substations Battery storage sites and linear cable routes

• Full end to end cable installation including quality assurance logistics temporary works and installation

• Carry out civils works including (not exhaustive):

• Earthworks and aggregate road construction

• Fencing installation

• Trenching and ducting

• General civil works

• Operate plant and machinery where trained and authorised

• Follow method statements risk assessments and site instructions

• Maintain high standards of safety quality and productivity

• Work collaboratively with foremen and other operatives

• Support weekend working and overtime as required

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in civils / cable installation

• CSCS card (Blue or Gold preferred)

• Competent in multiple civils disciplines

• Strong safety awareness and team-working attitude

Desirable Tickets & Skills

• CPCS or NPORS (360 Excavator Dumper Roller)

• Confined Spaces

• Cable pulling / utility experience

• Winch operator

• NRSWA

• Lifting Operations / Slinger Signaller

• SSSTS

• First Aid / Plant vehicle marshal / Banksman

• NG Persons

• EUSR 1 & 2
