Payments Domain - Product Manager / Product Owner Job Description

Product management skills – must have

  • Collaborate with the Business and Tech & Design teams to ideate new experiences & features elaborate features into epics and stories document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Participate in product discovery phase and provide insights & enhancements that would benefit the end customer.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and technical feasibility.
  • Take complete ownership of the product and monitor the product performance through relevant metrices.
  • Develop personas in conjunction with the Design team.
  • Advocate on behalf of the customer for the engineering and design team
  • Be the functional champion for the technical and design team while fostering collaboration among the team members.
  • Work closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the problems are identified early and product evolves delivering superior customer experience.
  • Prepare and host the sprint review demonstrating what was ‘Done’ and what was not ‘Done’ receive feedback from the (key) stakeholders and collaborate on the next steps to optimize the products’ value.
  • Own the PI planning and document the product feature plan for the upcoming quarters
  • Ensure Agile delivery practices are followed.
  • Aligned to 1 team fully dedicated team covers 1 product or multiple products
  • Translates product group level roadmaps to team level
  • Create OKRs roadmaps product and team metrics
  • Manage team and product level connections and dependencies
  • Leads cross team syncs with other product managers the quad engineering leaders business partners
  • Write features/ epics / stories for the team & with the team
  • Prioritize features and outcomes based on highest value to the customer
  • Create customer personas and story maps with the team
  • Is the team’s product expert enables a product mindset design thinking agile values
  • Leads discovery and delivery dual track product practices
  • Owns governance and releases
  • Owns experience testing and experimentation
  • Owns the business and technical aspects of the product and builds high levels of technical acumen and expertise
  • Creates technical stories with the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Domain knowledge in Banking Payments domain which includes Cards & Payments Acquiring and Cross Border Global payment ecosystems Treasury Ops & Payments
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Familiarity with payment messaging standards (SWIFT MT/MX ISO 20022. ISO 8583).
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards such as OFAC AML KYC sanctions screening. PCI-DSS PSD2 etc.
  • Technical know-how on APIs Payload SQL File formats batch processing etc. is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-border stakeholder management.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and matrixed environment.
  • Should be proactive and self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks vs time.
  • Strong customer orientation and excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding in tools such as JIRA & Confluence to carry out day today BAU tasks.
