About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Benefits and Pensions the Coordinator will be responsible for theadministration of all benefit and pension programsacross multiple business platforms in Canada and creating an exceptional employee experience. This is an exciting opportunity to become a trusted advisor for employees work alongside diverse HR teams and spearhead initiatives that support organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of the companys various benefit and retirement programs including medical dental vision life disability EAP defined contributions and defined benefits pensions;
  • Process all Canadian benefits & pensions invoices including coding approval follow up with vendors and coordination with Accounts Payable;
  • Monitor the shared benefits & pensions mailbox and serve as a first point of contact for employee questions
  • Coordinate employee leaves of absence (parental disability etc.);
  • Act as lead on assigned wellness projects/initiatives (Flu Shot Clinic Financial Literacy Month Mental Health Week etc.)
  • Update HRIS and carrier websites as required following life events job changes etc.;
  • Coordinate logistics for pension meetings seminars renewal meetings etc.;
  • Prepare and/or participate in government filings plan audits or other reporting requirements as necessary;
  • Update benefits & pensions communications on company intranet as required;
  • Provide support with ongoing audits (year end pensions etc.);
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • 1-3 years experience working in a fast-paced HR department
  • Highly analytical with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to different styles and develop cooperative relationships with employees at all levels in the organization;
  • Demonstrated success in working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor and exercising tact and good judgment;
  • Previous benefits pensions or leaves administration experience considered an asset

Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfields identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively. We will reassess the approach on a as needed basis.
