ToyotasBody Weld PilotDepartment is looking for a passionate and highly motivatedEquipment and Process Senior Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead equipment and process development for new model projects through structure evaluation Including mentoring Pilot Engineers.
Reporting to the Pilot Engineering and Maintenance Manager the person in this role will support the Body Weld Pilot Departments objective to prepare the TMMI (Toyota Indiana) Weld Production shops to be successful in achieving launch KPIs for safety quality productivity and cost during model changes and new models implementation through equipment and processing development.
What youll be doing
Lead structure evaluation for the body panels during project development phase and support teaching design structure evaluation to other Body Weld pilot engineers.
Lead evaluating body design of new models with consideration of reducing safety risk to team members improving internal shop quality manufacturability and reducing impact to downstream shops while meeting internal and external KPIs.
Lead evaluations of equipment design specifications for new models to meet human design standards deliver repeatable body accuracy and meet productivity requirements.
Communicate with multiple internal and external departments within Toyota as well as machine vendors and contractors. This includes giving regular updates to manager and above for project status.
Responsible for coordinating & managing all aspects of projects including OP management budget justification Ringi development scheduling installation and confirmation and final handover to production.
Strategy development and direction setting for best practices and new systems that will strengthen Body Weld pilot procedures.
Training and development of new Body Weld pilot engineers on all aspects of the pilot process including body accuracy structure evaluation equipment development & installation.
What you bring
2-year degree (or higher) in manufacturing or engineering related field or 5 years of pre-production/manufacturing experience
Ability to provide direction to engineers on project management process RJ (Ryohn Joken) setting and process production support on safety quality and productivity issues.
Experience working with Quality Engineering Weld Paint or Assembly on projects or overall plant specific objectives.
Experience in equipment specifications design install and validation.
Proficient understanding of cross-functional collaboration between various groups in Body Weld.
Intermediate knowledge in MS Office applications (Excel for analysis and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations and MS Project for schedules).
Strong analytical critical logical thinking skills.
Experience managing multiple projects and tasks and prioritizing work.
Knowledge of body accuracy & part design impact to assembly & paint process.
This position requires weekend work holiday shutdown work and confirmation support to allow for smooth restart of production.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record thats acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Experience directing leading managing and mentoring a project team or Co-op.
Experience working with supporting groups including TMNA Production Engineeirng TMNA Quality Design Materials Engineering Division and Toyota Technical Center (Design) and centralized maintenance.
Proficiency in 3D Modeling experience such as CAD & CATIA including the ability to read interpret and modify drawings
Experience with the equipment Buyoff & kanban System.
Body Weld Experience
Experience developing Ringi documents & managing capital projects.
Experience reviewing body design and providing feedback to design.
Understanding of body accuracy data as well as steps to achieve.
Experience with power applications / digital system development.
