Job Summary

Classification Title:	FWS -Sculpture Teaching Lab Assistant
Job Description:	The School of Art and Art History seeks a UF student with Federal Work Study student assistant to provide help maintaining the operation of the wood shop and metal shop. The successful candidate will have availability to work during regular business hours and have previous experience with wood and/or metal work sculptures. Advise students on safe use of equipment Check woodworking and metalworking tools in and out to students Clean the machines tables and floors as needed Clean and organize tool and material storage areas Assist in minor maintenance of equipment as instructed by Teaching Lab Specialists
Expected Salary:	$14/hour
Required Qualifications:	Federal Work Study award required see below for instructions to upload certificate Applicants must be able to lift fifty pounds on a regular basis. Availability to work up to 10 hours/week (maximum); Hours are flexible but days are preferable Monday through Friday. Weekly schedule based on School staffing needs (a set schedule will be provided whenever possible).
Preferred:	The successful candidate will bring to the position: Previous wood and/or metal working experience Understanding of basic power tools; such as drills saws sanders etc. Experience using hand tools such as saws chisels and carving tool Evidence of success in promoting an environment that advances pluralism curiosity viewpoint diversity open discourse and the well-being of all.
