Job Description
The Executive Vice President for Specialty Services reports directly to the President/CEO of Southcentral Foundation and plays a crucial role as a physician member of the executive team. The EVP Specialty Services is responsible for promoting SCFs vision mission and objectives directing the performance and operation of the corporation and ensuring SCFs financial sustainability. The EVP for Specialty Services works with the President/CEO the EVP team to develop and implement strategies to achieve SCFs short and long-term corporate goals and objectives. This position provides guidance to the Vice Presidents in the organization.
The EVP of Specialty Services works directly with the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) Hospital Administrator to oversee and manage the ANMC campus.
Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following: maternal child health services including inpatient pediatrics specialty pediatrics services child and family development services and inpatient OB-GYN emergency services departmentfast track optometry audiology and dental services.
The Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) offers comprehensive medical services and acute specialty primary and behavioral health care to Alaska Native and American Indian people living in Alaska. The award-winning medical center includes a 182-bed hospital houses Alaskas first Level II Trauma Center and is also a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The hospital also works in close partnership with rural health facilities statewide to support a broad range of health care and related services.
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and Southcentral Foundation established a Joint Operating Board to ensure unified operation of health services provided at the Alaska Native Medical Center.

Experience and Education
SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCFs geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCFs vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical mental emotional and spiritual wellness and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services.
The Ideal Candidate will possess the following experience skills and leadership attributes:
Experience as a high-level physician executive overseeing largescale and complex service lines and operations
Experience working in complex healthcare environments including community-based healthcare organizations accountable care organizations large health systems and/or hospitals.
Clinical and/or executive experience with the service lines reporting to the position (e.g. Family Practice OB-GYN Pediatrics Psychiatry Emergency Medicine or Internist)
A strong advocate of Southcentral Foundation and its mission
Collaborative leadership and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at various levels
A strategic innovative creative forward-thinking mindset to help push the organization forward
MD or DO degree with appropriate board certification and five (5) years of experience as a practicing physician.
At least (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in corporate management with at least five (5) years of this experience as a Vice President Chief Medical Officer Medical Director or other Director level position or any combination of training and experience that provides the required skills knowledge and abilities.
