Demonstrated knowledge of EU its institutions and their regulatory and legislative processes national level experience a further advantage
Fluency in English essential; Fluency in one or more additional EU languages (e.g. French German Spanish) is highly desirable
Strong communications and presentation skills including ability to make effective presentations to small and large audiences to government officials media representatives membership groups and to fellow staff. Must be capable of translating effectively between the specialist languages of technology and policy
Demonstrated skill in writing reports correspondence speeches position statements media talking points and testimony to be given before governmental/regulatory bodies
Able to read and apply information from regulatory/legislative sources and from IEEE collateral and technical materials
Able to regularly interact with EU legislators officials and staff as well as other national policy-makers public agency officials industrial and academic leaders and the media.
Technically savvy worker who is familiar with standard business tools including Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g. Word PowerPoint and Excel) MS Project and Oracle Financials.
Demonstrated ability to manage high performing and diverse volunteer and staff teams
Basic meeting and event planning skills and experience a plus
Must be willing to travel to Brussels and other meeting locations for IEEE business purposes
Proven experience with managing European projects or networks a plus
