Job Summary

Position Summary:

Level three assembly mechanics work without supervision to build assemblies according to print specifications of varying levels of complexity. These individuals will typically be focusing on assemblies that require the highest level of accuracy and mastery of assembly tools. They will be required to perform advanced inspections to ensure that parts are aligned with customer specifications. These individuals will also be expected to offer assistance and training to level one and level two assembly mechanics. Level three assembly mechanics will also assist in developing new assembly processes. This position typically requires 3-5 years of assembly experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Without supervision build complex assemblies that requires the highest level of skill.
  • Perform advanced inspection operations to insure component alignment clearance cleanliness and fastening.
  • Maintain area organization and cleanliness throughout shift.
  • Assist and train lower level assembly mechanics as necessary.

Required Skills:

  • The ability to build and trouble shoot assemblies of all levels of complexity.
  • The ability to use basic hand tools as well as basic assembly tools such as clamps rivet guns countersinks and drills.
  • The ability to use basic inspection tools such as scales micrometers calipers and feeler gauges to complete required inspection procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic shop math and print reading.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and researching customer specs.
  • Ability to provide leadership to other employees through training and mentoring.
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 35 lbs carry up to 20 ft and load parts in fixtures weighting up to 35 lbs
