Disability Support Worker. Permanent Part Time Kogarah Bay

About the Role

Based inKogarah Bay you will support 2 men in their 40s and 50s who enjoy going for walks puzzles and swimming. To provide best support the successful candidate will have experience in active support and behaviour support and be comfortable in managing behaviours of concern when required.

Joining ourSupported Independent Living (SIL)team on a permanent part time basis you will support people with disability to live their best lives in shared housing providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.

The successful candidates must be able to commit to theset roster line below:

• 27 hours per fortnight:
• Week 1: Mon & Tues 6:00 10:00am Thurs 2:00 6:30pm Fri 1:00 6:30pm
• Week 2: Tues & Wed 2:00 6:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
• Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
• Engage in client hobbies and interests such as walks puzzles and swimming onsite pool in backyard
• Maintain thorough record keeping
• Build positive relationships with clients families and colleagues
• Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

• Experience working with people with disability including vision impairment
• Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
• An unrestricted Australian drivers licence
• Comfortable to drive a large van to support community access
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
