Senior Construction Manager 2 Year Fixed Term Contract - Lagos Nigeria
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Construction Manager (civil/structural engineer background) to join our Mission Critical Facilities Advisory Group to be permanently based on site on Lagos Nigeria Data Centre project.

We work on our projects in a multidisciplinary setting as we normally advise our clients on all disciplines related to building design and construction (architectural civil/structural MEP).
You will be permanently based on site on Lagos Nigeria Data Centre project as Senior Construction Manager for duration of the contract.
RequirementsDesired Qualifications and Professional Registration
- Relevant built environment qualification (civil/structural discipline preferred).
- Minimum 20 years relevant building construction site work experience (civil/structural background as consultant preferred).
- Knowledge in the building construction industry including architecture/civil/structural/MEPF type of site works.
- Professional / candidate registration with ECSA or other built environment council advantageous.
- International experience working in Africa (outside South Africa) advantageous.
- Experience in the execution of Data Centre building projects is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of local & international building construction standards guidelines and working methods.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Project Power Point Teams and Outlook.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Good report writing skills.
- Project management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
We will entrust and rely on you to:
- Buildings (architecture/civil/structural/MEP engineering) construction supervision & monitoring during pre-construction construction & closeout project stages according to client national and international standards.
- Co-ordination of project & managing the contractor(s) on site managing/coordinating the integrated programme.
- Manage the site resident engineer(s).
- Monthly reports (including programme cost report variations orders RFIs site instructions payment certificates issues/risks etc).
- Chairing of progress meetings and recording minutes.
- Contract administration and project management.
- Quality management (QA/QC).
- Address complex technical questions from clients & the contractor in cooperation with the design engineers.
- Perform checks and attend meetings with clients and contractors during the execution phase of projects.
- Construction and factory inspection.
- Collaborate with colleagues or third parties on (a part of) the construction project.
- Maintain project records in accordance with internal quality system.
- Close out of the project lessons learned report Final account.
- Link between the design team in RSA and the REs and contractor/client on site.
- Mentor juniors where applicable.

Terms and conditions (indicative)
- Candidate would be working on a rotation schedule typically 3 months ON in Nigeria and 1 week OFF in RSA.
- Annual return flights between Nigeria and RSA to suit above rotation schedule to be separately covered by Atana.
- Business travelling expenses while in Nigeria will be separately covered by Atana via suitable car hire / car shuttle / taxi service.
- Accommodation expenses while in Nigeria will be separately covered by Atana via suitable apartment for single person in security compound / lodge / hotel.
- Atana shall facilitate and cover all relevant visa work permit and medical certification processes.
