To perform this role successfully the individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily with appropriate training:
Evaluate repair and perform hydraulic mechanical and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps
Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical control panels and systems
Interpret schematics wiring diagrams and technical documentation
Lead equipment start-ups and commissioning activities
Train customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and respond to emergency service callouts
Operate and maintain a company service truck including crane and outriggers
Operate industrial equipment in a shop environment (e.g. forklifts overhead cranes)
Utilize company-provided hand and power tools safely and effectively
Maintain accurate service records within Xylems work order management system
Promote and maintain a safe organized work environment at Xylem facilities and customer locations
Care for company property tools and vehicles
Demonstrate Xylems High Impact culture through accountability innovation and empowerment
Work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Daily local travel required
Some overnight travel may be required
Must pass and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience
5 years of relevant field service or technical experience preferred
Prior experience with submersible pumps wastewater systems or industrial equipment strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
Advanced troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
Strong communication skills with customers and internal teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office mobile devices and service software
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrates accountability and ownership of work
Proactively seeks and applies feedback
Uses root cause analysis (RCA) to solve problems effectively
Identifies and mitigates risk in the field
Performs effectively under pressure and during emergency situations

This role operates in an industrial shop and field environment where the use of PPE is required. The position may involve exposure to hazardous materials confined spaces and loud noise. Physical demands include standing climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs. Overtime and travel may be required based on customer and training needs.
