Research Assistant / Senior Research Assistantin Digital Media and Communication ()
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant/Senior Research Assistant to contribute to ongoing research projects on AI-generated misinformation and online hate speech. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with a professional research team and gain hands-on research experience.
Responsibilities:
The appointee will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to support both research and administrative functions of the projects. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct literature reviews and support the research process including data collection analysis and manuscript writing;
- Coordinate daily project activities and ensure timely completion of project milestones;
- Assist with grant proposal preparation;
- Prepare reports and summaries and handle administrative duties for the projects; and; and
- Perform any additional research-related tasks assigned by the PI.
Requirements:
- A masters degree or higher in Communication Psychology Social Sciences or a closely related discipline; candidates with a PhD are highly preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research as well as collaborate effectively within a research team;
- Proven proficiency in both written and spoken English with strong academic writing and presentation skills;
- Solid experience in quantitative research methods including designing and administering surveys or experiments and analysing quantitative data with relevant statistical software (e.g. SPSS R); and
- Highly self-motivated well-organised responsible and possessing good interpersonal and communication skills.
The appointment is expected to begin in January 2026 and will be offered for up to 12 months.
Salary will be competitive and based on qualifications and relevant experience.
