Description

Were seeking a Construction Manager to play a key leadership role within our Auckland Northland Transport team. Reporting to the Regional Director of Auckland and Northland youll set and execute our Auckland-wide construction strategy secure a strong construction pipeline and ensure the successful delivery of complex construction programmes.

This is a senior role where safety people leadership client relationships and commercial performance are equally critical.

About the role

As Construction Manager you will be accountable for the operational delivery of construction works across Auckland ensuring projects are delivered safely on time to specification and at or above forecast margin.

You will provide strong visible leadership to a large and diverse construction workforce foster a culture of Zero Harm and build high-performing teams capable of delivering both current and future work.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead operational delivery to achieve outstanding safety quality programme and financial outcomes
  • Build develop and retain a high-performing construction team through clear inclusive leadership
  • Work with an experienced team to establish a secure pipeline of work
  • Strengthen and maintain strong relationships with clients stakeholders subcontractors and suppliers
  • Work with senior leaders to retain existing business and position the business for future opportunities
  • Champion a genuine Zero Harm culture and lead by example
  • Provide strategic input while ensuring excellence in day-to-day delivery
  • Oversee planning estimating budgeting and forecasting across construction activities
  • Ensure robust project controls reporting contract administration and claims management
  • Drive continuous improvement innovation and best-practice ways of working
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety environmental quality and regulatory requirements

You are a confident and credible construction leader with a proven ability to manage large complex operations and multiple stakeholders. You balance commercial acumen with a strong people-first mindset.

Qualifications (desirable):

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven business or operational management experience with accountability for people plant and performance
