Your future role

This is an opportunity to join a world-leading engineering company through a well-established 4 year (excluding End Point Assessment) Apprenticeship Development Programme. You will work alongside experienced professionals and receive strong support mentoring and coaching while developing against the Apprenticeship Standard.

The programme includes placements across multiple departments to build a broad understanding of the business. Placements are planned to support your development and provide a varied rewarding experience.

Over the course of the program you will combine academic college studies with real life work-based experience across our organisation. You will be involved in varied engineering projects including covering aspects of design technical problem solving maintenance planning and product reliability growth. You will have the opportunity to build and gather evidence of your competence whilst working towards a formal qualification.

Your qualification will be completed at Derby College training will be delivered by day/block release. The remainder of the time is spent at work in the depot where you will have the opportunity to build and gather evidence of your competence whilst working towards a formal qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating CAD using Catia version 5
  • Producing CAD 3D models
  • 2D Installation and Assembly drawings
  • Creation of 2D manufacturing drawings
  • Working with manufacturers of components
  • Liaising with customers to deliver a quality product to cost ensuring a high level of quality to specific timescales

What do I need to qualify for this job

  • GCSE or equivalent 5 Subjects including Maths English & Science (Grade 4 to 9)
  • 90 credits in an Engineering BTEC at Level 3/ 3 A Levels of Grade C or above.
  • Strong communication analytical and IT skills
  • Mechanical and Electrical understanding
