NRC Ukraine works with a range of partners to extend its access to people in need and to build the
capacity of local organizations and institutions for a longer-term sustainability. To work in partnership
more effectively NRC Ukraine is strengthening its internal systems and developing standard operating
procedures for partnership management building on NRCs existing Partnership Toolkit. Partner
capacity building requires inputs across NRC teams from Finance M&E and Learning Programmes
and others; effective partnership demands greater internal coordination and partners mapping. This
role requires a proactive attitude combined with a diverse set of skills including an understanding of
partnership programming.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Partnership Officer for the South area. The
ideal candidate will have experience in partnership work excellent communication and interpersonal
skills good command of excel to be fluent in English and Ukrainian. This role is essential in ensuring
quality collaboration with partners strategically aligned with our organizational objectives. The
Partnership Officer will engage with broad partnership responsibilities supporting the growth and
effectiveness of our collaborative initiatives.
Generic responsibilities
1. Ensure adherence to NRC policies handbooks/guidelines and donor requirements.
2. Support project implementation with the local actors based on the NRC Partnership
Guidelines. 3. Provide timely and context specific information to internal and external stakeholders.
4. Play an active role to strengthen NRCs localization response in accordance with the NRC
Country Strategy.
5. Stick to a high level of risk management and compliance to ensure strong and reliable
partnerships.
6. Prepare and submit periodic reports to the line manager when requested.
7. Support identification of capacity development needs and ensure partners are receiving the
necessary technical support.
8. Other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Specific responsibilities
Support development of quality partner proposals (log frames indicators and targets) aligned
with NRC formats and standards in coordination with Project Managers
1. Track partners progress monthly and review of the interim and final narrative reports in
coordination with Project Managers.
2. Support identification design and implementation of relevant learning and capacity building
plans for partners in collaboration with other NRC departments involved.
3. Support Partnerships Coordinator in mapping local partners in the South AO.
4. Support Partnerships Coordinator in identifying potential partners and building relations with
them.
5. Facilitate communication and coordination between NRC and partners and perform
monitoring visits to partners.
6. Support Partnerships Coordinator in organizational assessments and vetting of potential
partners as per NRC Partnership Toolkit.
7. Identification of capacity development needs and support in coordination of systematic
capacity-building exercises including liaising with NRC Partnership Unit (Country Office) and
NRC programme staff to ensure partners are receiving necessary technical support. This could
include support in organizing training coaching and mentoring.
8. Short translations either from Ukrainian into English or vice versa of relevant documents
related to partners.
9. Participation in various meetings between the partner and NRC involved staff facilitate with
communication translation if needed (English Ukrainian) preparation of the relevant
minutes or summaries.
10. Support the Partnerships Coordinator in contracting with and sub-granting to the NRCs
partners in the South AO.
11. Support the Partnerships Coordinator in development of the project implementation and mini
grants agreements between partners and NRC.
12. Support the local partners in becoming familiar with the NRCs reporting templates as well as
specific reporting requirements in cooperation with the respective NRC departments.
13. Collaborate with the Partnership Unit Country Office and Partnerships Coordinator to ensure
up-to-date maintenance of the Partnership Tracker for the South AO.
14. Support in preparation of the project opening meetings project review meetings and project
closure meetings participate in such meetings and actively follow up on any matters and/or
issues if required.
15. Monitor partners compliance to NRCs and where applicable to specific donor requirements.
16. Maintain filing and documentation of the South AO partner projects and partnership
documents as per the NRC Ukraines filing and information management systems.
17. Work with the Partnership Unit Partnerships Coordinator South AO in development and
operationalisation of the NRCs Partnership Strategy for engagement with public local
authorities/local academia private sector and civil society stakeholders LNGOs CBOs and
NNGOs.
18. In regard to implementing the said Strategy flag any bottlenecks in the processes and provide
suggestions for the improvement of the existing mechanisms.
19. Other operational and administrative support and assistance as required by the line manager.
1. Professional competencies
These are skills knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.
Bachelors degree or equivalent in the field of international development economics business
administration law or related field.
Good understanding of the Ukrainian civil society.
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the humanitarian context preferably in a
partnership sector.
Good skills in Excel and Power BI for data analysis and data visualization.
Advanced speaking writing and listening skills in English and Ukrainian are required.
Ability to support partners especially in organizational development and capacity building will be
an advantage.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Ability to work effectively in a team.
Good interpersonal skills including communication (both written and verbal).
Attention to details good organisational skills and discretion with confidential information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software online information platforms.
Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced result-oriented
environment.
