About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Grade 2 Registered Nurse with perioperative Cardiac Scrub/Scout experience who are seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity to become part of our dynamic team on a full time Fixed term basis for 12 months.

We are able to provide you with excellent educational opportunities across a broad range of specialities including Cardiothoracic Vascular Neurosurgery ENT Plastics General Urology and Orthopaedics.

Duties

• Ability to work efficiently as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Managing the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
• Administration of medication in accordance with hospital procedures protocols and policies
• Assist with medical and diagnostic procedures carried out in the unit
• Document observe and report relevant nursing findings within the framework of nursing progress.

Skills Experience and Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor of Nursing Degree with a current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
• Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (desirable)
• Minimum 12 months current experience in Cardiac Scrub/ Scout role and a good understanding of the current standards of practice
• Motivated professional & exhibiting exceptional communication and time management skills.

Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69253.60 - $92601.60 pro rata per annum).

About the Department
St Vincents Operating Suite currently houses 12 theatres 12 anaesthetic rooms and a Post Anaesthetic Care Area. Working alongside the Sterile Processing Centre Day Procedures and Endoscopy Centres. The department undertakes over 9000 procedures per year in a vast range of highly specialised and complex specialities over a 24 hour period 7 days per week.
