The Ranch Guide Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all guide staff managing the hunting program maintaining wildlife operations and supporting ranch activities year-round. This position ensures safe ethical hunting practices high-quality client experiences and the ethical care of deer quail exotic species equipment and facilities.
1. STAFF SUPERVISION & OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
Guide Team Oversight
Supervise guide personnel schedules leave and daily duties.
Address minor conflicts and conduct routine performance check-ins.
Provide training coaching and uphold workflow standards.
Ensure policy compliance and safe operating procedures with vehicles and firearms.
2. WILDLIFE & HABITAT MANAGEMENT
Manage feeding programs weekly pasture feeding and feed logs.
Monitor wildlife health and report concerns.
Maintain monthly feed-consumption analysis and forecasting.
Record harvests mortalities and coordinate with the biologist.
3. FEEDERS BLINDS & EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Maintain feeders blinds and shooting lanes.
Ensure feeders are ready by Sept 1 and blinds by Sept 15.
Maintain skeet ranges shooting supplies and camp guns.
Service the clay thrower batteries and lead sled and ensure repairs are completed prior to the first hunt.
4. CLIENT & GUEST HUNTING PROGRAM
Guide guests ensure safety and supervise guide operations.
Maintain clean vehicles processing areas and equipment.
Establish harvest guidelines; coordinate client information.
Conduct spotlight and aerial surveys; complete MLD reports.
5. HUNTING DUTIES
Guide hunts ensure safety field dress and store game.
Entertain guests place penned quail track wounded game.
Maintain strong guest rapport and professional conduct.
6. OFF-SEASON & GENERAL RANCH WORK
Brush management equipment maintenance cattle work.
Water systems roads fences and habitat improvements.
Operate heavy equipment safely.
Maintain facilities and organized workspaces.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum
2 years guiding; strong TX wildlife and firearm knowledge.
Strong communication organization and leadership.
Valid hunting license; computer literacy.
Task-oriented team player willingness to learn.
Preferred
B.S. wildlife/natural resources/animal science.
5 years guiding; 2 years leadership.
