In this role you willbecome a member of the support staff with a primary work assignment supporting the Missile Defense Agencys Command Control Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC). This position requires a seasoned professional with a detailed understanding of DoD acquisition processes to include cost schedule and performance of contracts.This position is inColorado Springs CO.
Duties of aPrincipal Acquisition Analyst:
- Working knowledge of applicable DoD acquisition directives to support the development of Missile Defense System (MDS) acquisition policy plans processes procedures and guidance for MDS development and fielding
- Develop Acquisition Plans Justification and Approvals Request for Proposal packages Statements of Work and Contract Data Requirement Lists
- Interpret MDA acquisition guidance to support acquisition planning and MDS programintegration;
- Expertisein strategic planning acquisition strategy development and development of key acquisition documentation to support acquisition strategy approval and execution
- Prepare planning documents to coordinate integrated acquisition strategies within the MDS and OGA partners
- Support and interact with high level DoD Officials (O-6 and above GS-15/NH-4 equivalent) sitting on-site with the DoD Program Office and deliveringproducts successfully in afast-pacedenvironment (on demand).
- Develop reports decision papers and briefings for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Technical understanding and experience with missile defense or radar systems.
- Develop and present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel; exceptional written and verbal skills required.
- Works independently and/or leads teams to analyze and resolve problems.
- Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency Ballistic Missile Defense System and/or THAAD ProgramOfficework efforts.
- Proficiencyin system engineering and executionprocesses.
- Proficiencyusing Microsoft Office products (Excel PowerPoint Word etc.
- Possess knowledge of acquisition processes/activitiesrequiredto support the evaluation of contract performance against the program baselines
- Experience translating technical requirements into contract requirements
- Capable of working independently or leading cross-functional teams to research track and complete ad hoc tasks associated withthe PWS
- Experience in cost schedule and performance management for a space-based program and/or a DoD
Education
- Bachelors Degree and 20 years of relevant experience orMasters Degreeand 12 years of experience
