Job Summary
KTSM TV IS seekinga creative fast-moving Content Creator who is passionate about local news and energized by local-first storytelling. This role focuses on producing short-form stories assist in the live production of our news broadcasts and digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
Create short-form videooptimizedfor KTSMs social platforms and digital audiences.
Shoot and edit original stories
Pitch and develop daily digital story ideas rooted in local news and community impact.
Collaborate with producers/managers to integrate content
Stay current on emerging platforms tools and best practices for digital storytelling.
- Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts
- Confers with directors and producers for newscast execution
- Sets up cameras and related equipment
- Produces graphics for newscast
- Edit video content for newscasts
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
Passion for local news and serving the El Paso community.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Experience creating digital video content.
Strong shooting and editing skills; comfortable with mobile workflows and lightweight gear.
Ability to write engaging captions and headlines tailored for digital audiences.
Sound editorial judgment; familiarity with journalism ethics and copyright best practices.
Organized and adaptable; able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced breaking-newsenvironment.
Bachelors degree in journalism Communications Digital Media or equivalent experience preferred.
Schedule flexibility for early mornings nights weekends and breaking news as needed
