A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is working in partnership with several inclusive mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions in Crouch End to recruit highly motivated empathetic and professional SEN Teaching Assistants. The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Crouch End you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with diverse needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Social Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) speech and language difficulties moderate learning difficulties and sensory processing challenges.
You may be required to support pupils 1:1 work with small intervention groups or provide flexible classroom support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO. Some roles may also include supporting pupils during breaks lunchtimes or transitions around the school where consistent adult supervision and reassurance are critical.
Your primary responsibility is to ensure pupils feel safe understood and confident enabling them to access learning and fully participate in school life. This includes supporting their academic progress social development and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver targeted SEN support in line with EHCPs individual learning plans and teacher guidance
Support pupils emotional regulation behaviour management and social interaction
Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities that meet individual pupil needs
Encourage independence resilience and confidence
Provide support during transitions break times and unstructured activities
Implement and reinforce behaviour management strategies consistently
Maintain accurate and timely records relating to SEN safeguarding and behaviour
Collaborate effectively with teachers SENCOs therapists and other support staff
Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure a safe learning environment
