Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Electrical Engineer:
#1. 7 12 years of consulting engineering experience in electrical engineering with a strong focus on power system and lighting design
#2. Proven experience delivering electrical designs for industrial higher education healthcare and/or commercial projects
#3. Hands-on experience performing power system studies using SKM ETAP or similar electrical modeling software
#4. Experience applying NEC IEEE NESC IESNA IECC and other applicable electrical and energy codes in design and documentation
#5. Experience coordinating with architects contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all project phases
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
Both Austin & Dallas offices are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with 7 to 12 years of consulting engineering experience who is passionate about delivering innovative design solutions and excited to grow with a collaborative multidisciplinary this role you will contribute to a variety of challenging projects support our electrical engineering group and partner with other disciplines across the firm.
Requirements of the Electrical Engineer:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (required)
- Knowledge of local codes and standards (preferred)
- Experience with local contractors architects and construction practices (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting system design for diverse building types
- Experience with medium-voltage distribution generation and protection systems (preferred)
- Must have SKM ETAP or similar electrical modeling software experience.
- The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of Industrial higher education healthcare and/or commercial projects.
- Must be familiar with electrical/energy codes and standards (NEC IEEE NESC IEEE IESNA IECC etc.)
- Experience with lighting design (preferred)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Revit Bluebeam and related design software (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams
- Desire and capability to lead projects and coordinate across multiple disciplines
Additional Expectations:
- Prepare electrical and lighting plans specifications and technical reports
- Support business development and marketing initiatives as needed
- Contribute to team mentorship knowledge sharing and firm-wide growth
Other Key Requirements:
- Must be able to work in the office four(4) days a week
- Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
