Title: DCTLIB-Fabrication Specialist B

End Time: 10:30 PM
Job Description:
- QTY 6 - Fabrication/Welding
- Performs machine set-up machining welding set-up welding sheet metal fabrication and extrusion tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles repairs modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.

- Fully onsite
- New Orleans LA 66-103 (NASA SLS)
- 2nd shift
- 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm Monday - Friday with occasional volunteer overtime available
- No travel (if travel were to ever arise it would be to the KSC site in Florida)
- No security clearance required
- NASA safety sensitive
- NASA badge required (Will facilitate NASA badging post start)
- Day to day: Contractors will be installing electrical composition on the SLS rocket for NASA. Periodically will work in various areas of the NOLA site to support SLS team needs. Training will be provided once onsite on SLS specific project. Will need someone will solid electrical and mechanical experience.
- Required Experience:
- Welding experience (at least year experience minimum)
- Comfortable with heights (contractors will be required to use a JLG lift)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprint drawings
- Interview:
- Phone interview 30 minutes. Manager is looking to interview around 10-15 candidates and will try to complete as soon as possible to hopefully have the contractors starts around the first week of February
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Shifts: 2nd shift
- Onsite/remote/hybrid: 100% onsite NOLA 103
- Interview Information: Phone interviews as soon as possible
- Physical demands (if any): Must be comfortable standing bending down using lift equipment/heights
- Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment OJT or formal classroom training
