Project Manager Production Equipment Implementation

We are strengthening our production facilities by expanding the production of amplifiers to include modules. It is an exciting new step in our New Product Development (NPI) journey and it will be fun to build it says Lars Poulsen Senior Manager NPI PMO & Documentation.

Demant develops and produces cutting-edge high-quality hearing aids. Our focus is helping people with hearing loss to get a better quality of life all over the world.

Our production site in Ballerup is the global competence center for microelectronics and the main production site for amplifiers and soon to be modules - used in Demants hearing aids. We aim to establish a state-of-the-art production setup with the most advanced technology available.

You will be joining The NPI & PMO Project Management Team which consists of eight people each working within different areas bringing new products into volume production. We have an effective teamwork where knowledge is shared and help only is a desk away. Even though we have a professional work atmosphere a good laugh is never far away. Together with the team your manager Lars Poulsen will be a good sparring partner to you in this new role.

The newly created position

As our new Project Manager youll play a critical role in shaping our production capabilities and driving operational excellence says Lars.

Your overall responsibility is planning coordinating and executing projects related to introducing new production equipment into the electronics manufacturing environment.

As an extra layer for this job we have used up all square meter and dont have the possibility to expand why you must think creatively using LEAN as an approach to optimize space management when implementing new production equipment to fit with existing production lines.

At our production site in Polan they are experienced in buying and implementing new production equipment as well as rebuilding production facilities. You will gain valuable knowledge by visiting them.

In this job you will more specifically:

  • Plan and manage project tasks for new production equipment implementation:
    • Develop detailed project plans timelines and budgets for equipment implementation.
    • Define scope objectives and deliverables in alignment with business needs.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks related to timelines costs and technical challenges.
    • Translate operational needs into technical specifications.
  • Collect requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Here you will collaborate closely with Production Management Production- and Process Engineering and In-direct Procurement to capture and specify the equipment requirements.
  • Coordinate internal readiness for installation; floor space utilities and safety and maintenance teams regarding Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
  • Support In-direct Procurement by participating in negotiations for purchase of equipment service agreements and warranties.
  • Focus on supplier relationships and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure installation is compliant with quality safety environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure documentation and validation processes are completed before handover.
  • Communicate progress and align stakeholders across departments.
  • Manage tasks and strategic projects related to the production setup through continuous improvement.

Traveling is a part of the position and you must expect around 10 days of travel per year.

Once the implementation is complete you will work on other strategic projects that support the NPI and our manufacturing capabilities.

What Were Looking For

As the job is in Ballerup you must be able to work onsite from day one.

In addition to an education in engineering it is a requirement that you have:

  • Around 3-5 years of experience in managing industrial equipment implementation projects from regulated industries e.g. pharma food or medical devices with proven experience in:
    • Manufacturing processes and equipment installation requirements.
    • FAT/SAT procedures and validation protocols.
    • Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
    • Supplier negotiation and supplier management.
    • MS Project Agile or PMI standards.
