Job Summary

As anInterior Designer I you will:

  • Provide assistance throughout the interior design process under routine guidance; contributes to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in interior design execution and living design.
  • Begin to understand the architectural design process and integration of interior design concepts.
  • Participate in preparing contract documents including but not limited to floor plans and details reflected ceiling plans millwork design furniture layouts finish plans and schedules.
  • Assist in creating presentation materials and models for client presentations.
  • Learn to manipulate basic design elements such as spatial layout color light texture and scale.
  • Research manufacturers and contribute to selection of colors finishes materials furniture and lighting for interior application ensuring sustainability goals of the firm are maintained.
  • Contribute to programming and space planning analysis and provides area calculations.
  • Gain exposure to knowledge of project scope budgets and deliverables.
  • Use a creative approach to perform tasks and responsibilities on projects in an organized timely and consistent way.
  • Self-checkwork for accuracy omissions legibility and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
  • Proactively asks questions and expresses curiosity about the world of design materials and products as well as the industry at large.
  • Provide support to tasks within project teams (may focus on individual detailed tasks) and studio activities.
  • Participate in design reviews charettes and pin-ups.
  • Keepopen communication within team and with designated team leader.
  • Communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
  • Assist with coordination among partners and consultants.

For consideration you should have:

  • 0-3 years of experience.
  • A professional degree in Architecture Design or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling visualization and graphic software; Revit strongly preferred.
  • Additional proficiencies may include site analysis preliminary design studies and field measurements.
  • Additional skills should include Photoshop Illustrator InDesign Excel Lumion and Rhino.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills attention to detail and motivation to learn.
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic.
  • LEED GA within one year of hire.
  • Preparing for NCIDQ exam.
