Were hiring a Short-Form Video Editor to help build 500 Globals in-house media engine!

500 Global manages $2.7B in assets and has backed companies like Canva Talkdesk Grab and Solana. We support 2600 companies across 80 countries.

Were building a media operation to help entrepreneurs around the world understand whats next. We highlight the founders building the future the countries where innovation is emerging actionable insights that help startups win and the trends reshaping global markets. Short-form content is how those stories reach people today.

This role is for an editor who understands attention not just software.

What youll do

Edit high-impact short-form videos for social platforms
Turn scripts and voiceovers into fast clear scroll-stopping stories
Use text overlays and motion to carry the message not decorate it
Apply sound design to control rhythm energy and emphasis
Work with mixed source material: original footage archival stock screens
Handle ad-hoc video requests as they come up

The editing style were looking for

Fast pacing (13s beats) with intentional cuts
Bold text overlays and kinetic typography as a core storytelling tool
Tight sync between visuals voiceover music and SFX
Comfort with modern aesthetics: motion accents light glitching contrast
Mobile-first vertical-native thinking

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience editing short-form vertical video for social (portfolio required)
Strong pacing and story sense (hook retention payoff)
Proficiency with professional editing tools (e.g. Premiere Pro After Effects CapCut DaVinci Resolve etc.)
Confidence designing readable high-impact text overlays and basic motion/kinetic type
Solid audio instincts: leveling music/SFX layering timing for emphasis
Ability to work quickly take feedback and hit deadlines in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience editing founder/tech/business content and/or editorial-style social videos
Familiarity with platform best practices (TikTok Reels Shorts): safe zones retention patterns captioning
