JOB TITLE: Remote Structural Engineer (AutoCAD Drafting & Structural Design & Calculations)
Industry: Building & Construction
Rate: 10 12AUD/hour
Duration: 30 hours per week
About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join a growing Australian structural design firm. The successful candidate will handle end-to-end design and drafting tasks from sketches provided by the Director through to complete structural drawings ready for review. This is a remote role with flexible working hours aligned to Australian business operations.
Qualifications:
- Must have a relevant experience as an AutoCAD Drafter.
- Experience using Structural Toolkit and/or CLEAR Calcs (preferred; CLEAR Calcs training available).
- Strong knowledge of drainage design including onsite detention and understanding of Australian residential construction & engineering practices in AU is a MUST.
- Written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people both internally and externally
- Ability to draft setup sheets and complete structural calculations
- Ability to work independently stay on task and meet project deadlines
- The ability to multitask and prioritize your workload
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Previous remote work experience with Australian clients.
- Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Drafting 2D/3D structural drawings using AutoCAD.
Preparing detailed structural calculations using Structural Toolkit and/or CLEAR Calcs.
Setting up jobs using pre-prepared templates and ensuring all drawings are accurate and compliant with engineering principles.
Translate director provided sketches to complete structural documentation
Incorporating revisions and finalizing drawings for client submission.
Maintaining organized drawing files and project documentation.
Communicating with the Director for clarification and approvals (no client-facing work required).
Required Skills:
