Sunchild First Nation School is seeking an energetic student-focused Junior/Senior High Physical Education and Health Teacher to join our dedicated team for the remainder of the school year. About Sunchild First Nation School
Located approximately 60 km northwest of Rocky Mountain House in Central Alberta Sunchild First Nation School is a modern K4Grade 12 facility serving about 385 students with a staff of over 70 team members. We offer one of the most comprehensive and holistic education programs in the region blending strong academics with Cree culture land-based learning wellness and extensive student supports.

Position: Junior / Senior High Physical Education & Health Teacher We are looking for a dynamic and caring teacher who:
- Promotes lifelong physical activity wellness and healthy decision-making
- Builds strong respectful relationships with junior and senior high school students
- Delivers engaging Physical Education and Health lessons aligned with the Alberta curriculum
- Supports school athletics intramurals and extracurricular activities
- Integrates Cree perspectives land-based learning and culturally responsive approaches where possible
- Values culture diversity and strong community partnerships
- Collaborates effectively within a team environment
Qualifications - Eligibility for Alberta Teachers Certification is required
- New graduates of Bachelor of Education programs are encouraged to apply
- Successful candidates must provide a Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check as a condition of employment
The start date for this position is February 2026. Interviews will be conducted either in person or via Google Meet depending on the candidates preference. The closing date for applications is Monday January 19th 2026
