Responsibilities
The EOS II plays a key rolein advancing the City of Daytons civil rights fair housing and equity andinclusion efforts. This position independently conducts civil rightsinvestigations leads education and outreach initiatives and supports theCommunity Appeals Board (CAB) in carrying out its responsibilities related topolicecommunity relations. The EOS II also supports the Human RelationsCouncil (HRC) Board and contributes to the development implementation andongoing maintenance of initiatives designed to affirmatively further fairhousing and promote equitable treatment across the community.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Urban Studies Urban Affairs Public Policy Urban Planning Transportation Planning Community Development Public Administration Political Science Demographics Econometrics Geography (GIS) Social Anthropology Environmental Studies Social Studies Sociology Social Work Criminal Justice Social Justice Human Rights or a closely related field;
AND 4 years of experience in civil or human rights social justice fair housing equal employment conflict management or working with immigrants and other minorities;
OR
Law degree AND 4 years of experience in civil or human rights social justice fair housing equal employment conflict management or working with immigrants and other minorities.
A Masters Degree in one of the above listed areas may be substituted for one year of the above required experience.
Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.
License Requirements
Must possess a validdrivers license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term andcondition of continued employment.

A background investigation and evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity is required prior to employment. All candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position including current city employees seeking transfer promotion demotion etc. into a classified position.
Medical Examination & Drug and Nicotine Testing
Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen. Applicants offered employment with the City will be required to pass a nicotine screening. Newly hired employees must remain tobacco and nicotine free as a condition of continued employment. The Tobacco and Nicotine Free Hiring Policy does not apply to current City employees.
